SEMARANG, PETISI.CO – The Deputy Governor of Central Java Province, Taj Yasin Maimoen, proposed the use of human feces into biogas.He said, Indonesia's gas reserves are very limited.So that the community is asked to explore various potentials of new renewable energy (EBT) in their environment.According to him, Islamic boarding schools could be the target of a pilot project for the use of biogas from communal septic tanks.Ponpes which has a large number of students, can be an example by building communal sanitation.Then, biogas from human feces can be used for cooking needs and so on.“A boarding school if you build a communal septic tank, it is closer to the kitchen, so that sanitation can be integrated into one unit.We will do this in several Islamic boarding schools in Central Java," said Taj Yasin when giving a speech at the Sirojuth Tholibin Islamic Boarding School, Brabo, Grobogan Regency, Tuesday (20/9/2022).Taj Yasin added, if Islamic boarding schools can process and utilize human waste into gas energy, it will create Islamic boarding school independence and save energy use."How do we create our own gas, we calculate the required gas needs.In Islamic boarding schools with at least 1,000 students, they can produce gas.If you usually buy LPG in housing for around Rp.250 thousand per month, then at the boarding school how much we calculate, "he explained.He said that saving energy by utilizing new and renewable energy (EBT) in Indonesia was an instruction from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, which was delivered during his presidential speech on August 16, 2022.To carry out the instructions, continued Taj Yasin, the Central Java Provincial Government will follow up by establishing cooperation with developers or Real Estate Indonesia and other related parties."Maybe we can invite (housing) developers to cooperate with the provincial government.(during) the provision (construction) of housing, then we ask (septic tanks) to be communalized.But if you have to calculate how much investment you have to spend in housing, how much will the income be?Maybe in the beginning it will be expensive, but after that they can be more economical in the future, “he said.In addition to using feces for biogas, the deputy governor also encouraged the community, including Islamic boarding schools to apply Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTSA).By utilizing PLTSA, for lighting and other electrical energy needs, Islamic boarding schools can save energy expenditures of 40-30 percent.(lim)No more pages to load.
