Gloucester BOS allocates ARPA funds – Gazette Journal

The Gloucester Board of Supervisors unanimously voted Tuesday night to allocate more than $780,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding to two county needs—covering the balance of work being done to sewage pumping station 11 and providing one-time premium pay to Social Services employees.

Following these allocations, the county has $721,795 remaining in ARPA funds. The bulk of Tuesday’s appropriations—$714,826—will go to work being done at Pump Station 11.

Board member Mike Hedrick said he believed funding Pump Station 11 was the top priority remaining on the list of ARPA eligible projects. He said if the county lost Pump Station 11, it could shut down schools and the hospital.

The work being done to Pump Station 11 includes relocation of the emergency generator, fuel tank, automatic transfer switch and controls above the Base Flood Elevation level of seven feet above sea level.
